Panel On Global Internet Cooperation and Governance Mechanisms

The Panel consists of a diverse group of global stakeholders from government, civil society, the private sector, the technical community and international organizations. The Panel is focused on evolving and globalizing the current Internet governance framework.

It was formed through a partnership with the Annenberg Foundation and the World Economic Forum. It is chaired by Estonian President Toomas Ilves and vice-chaired by Vint Cerf. A team of Internet governance experts assists the Panel and represents various aspects of the stakeholder community.

The Panel seeks to engage in collective dialogue on critical Internet governance issues, and will chart a roadmap for the future evolution of global Internet cooperation and the governance ecosystem. It will release a high-level preliminary report in early 2014 for public comment. The report will describe a desirable Internet cooperation and governance ecosystem, including properties for global Internet cooperation, administration and governance as part of a roadmap to navigate future opportunities and challenges.
